OK, so summer brings the problem of little pests such as ants. I have been noticing these little creatures taking over my home, and I decided to do some research on planet-friendly, chemical-free ways to get rid of these pests. I found two ideas I thought I would share.

1. Vinegar and water mixed equally and sprayed directly on the ants will take care of the ants it comes into contact with.

2. Sprinkle cornmeal in high traffic areas. They bring it back to the nest and they eat it and then when they drink water it expands and crushes the exoskeleton.

I have not yet tried these. I will this evening. I will let you know the results.

I found another produce co-op serving Missouri and Illinois. Co-ops help keep the price of eating fresh foods down!

I recently saw this town for myself when I went on a trip. It was very encouraging. Since the oil spills, it reinforces that we need to look into alternative energy such as solar and wind.
